Interrogation - Jacquemus RTW F/W 2026
Hotel Vallorca, 5:36 p.m. A daiquiri rested between them, barely sipped. The glass rested faster than the judges spoke.
Fashion Week this season, has been a rollercoaster of emotions. So many got it well. As we all know, within each Fashion Week, there's good, but there's bad as well. Let's be honest, no one can get it perfectly right. Judge Silhouette from the Nation of Sensaciato and Judge Standard from the Nation of Sprezza Vita are discussing... Jacquemus.
Jacquemus did a great job. To be fair, the judges from these two nations have their bias and have embraced Jacquemus for a long time. However, a clear discussion is being held between the judges and nothing will be spared. It starts now.
Observed Code:
Talercio Law I Rule 1.1 - "Every outfit shall be a statement of intent, not an accident."
Statement of intent was delivered, however, a disappointment has been raised.
Bar Debate - Jacquemus 2026
Judge Silhouette: "Early on, we have decided to focus on our most imperative law (Talercio L.I-R.1.1.); intent, not accident is our focus. Jacquemus, to be honest, the hats have never disappointed, not once."
Judge Standard: "They stole the show. I wanted to see more, please give me more."
Judge Silhouette: "The first look (all white set) was a great start. I have to admit, when I first watched the show, I was disappointed; after seating on it, I am seeing all the gems that were dropped in this collection."
Judge Standard: "I agree! Construction was impeccable on most of the looks. I have my favorites. I admire the contrast of fabric in Look 5. Look 51 looks effortless and breathing. Looks 63 was dreamy, the fabric embraced the curves and Look 66 is a delight with a motif not overpowering the collection, just enough to be noticed."
Judge Silhouette: "Look 4 which is the black sheer dress with ruffles, I liked the white detail at the hem. Look 10 (sheer black dress) is very deliberate and see through - ideal for a woman choosing herself. Look 9 (beige long coat) is doing what a coat is supposed to do, carry the scene. Look 33 (sheer blue dress) deserves to be acknowledged with the color standing out and being a surprise and the silhouette itself is different than what we usually see. Let's not forget the iconic Look 26 (Long black coat with motif), it deserved to be put on a pedestal. It's memorable, stands out and absolutely well fitted."
Judge Standard: "Oh yes! Construction is impeccable. It's well fitted with a motif subtle enough to not attract too much attention, but visible enough to ensure heads turn! Unfortunately Look 27 (yellow dress) and Look 67 (Black dress) feel a bit unfinished. Those 3D ruffle details feel a bit clumsy and rushed."
Judge Silhouette: "Well, Look 17 (feathered set) feels out of place here, as if the House forgets its own DNA. Those feathers have to go. Look 3 (beige and black skirt set) as much as I love the top, the skirt looks unfinished, look at the hem, absolutely not!"
Judge Standard: "I also got confused. I love Look 66 with the motif and sheer fabric, Look 69 (white polka dot dress) is definitely not hitting the same way even if the motif is similar."
Judge Silhouette: "Yes, it has a circus energy to it and I know it's not the design as this design has worked before. Nor is it the motif as Look 66 has proven itself successful; it's most likely the fabric. I also wish they had taken more risk with the makeup, there's nothing to see. It looks blend."
Judge Standard: "This is a pattern with this Fashion Week where makeup and beauty is too safe. Almost scared to be touched or play with. Barely pushing."
Judge Silhouette: "Fashion is art; it's supposed to be played with and beauty is the perfect complement to enhance any look. Let's focus on the closing look, Look 71 (one shoulder black dress with glass prop). Was it gorgeous? Yes. Was it already seen? Yes. It referenced a painting. I would have been okay with a reference, if it's just that. Why repeat the photograph when you could challenge it? "
Judge Standard: "The execution is literal rather than refined reinterpretation. It leans into archival memory but stops short of modernization."
Judge Silhouette: "Does this feel like clothing or a staged gesture?."
Judge Standard: "It does feel like a staged gesture. Reference is fine but where is the interpretation? Execution is strong, but where is the designer's standard?"
Judge Silhouette: "Why stop where everyone already stopped? If construction is impeccable, why does the memory feel louder than the designer? The collection closed with a reference strong enough to overshadow the designer's own voice, leaving the final impression feeling borrowed rather than authored."
Judge Standard: "Regrettably. This collection is Fresh Gelato."
Judge Silhouette: "Reluctantly. This collection Shakes Gravity."
Recorded. Filed. Archived. Fashion Week is now a matter of public record.
They understood.
Conclusion
Jacquemus has shown great effort and delivered some great looks. Some of them where misses but overall, a very good collection.
Therefore, the judges have concluded:
Gravity Shakes - this collection is Fresh Gelato!
Report Filed. Case Continues.
